Astralix, the creative love child of Gary Dranow, Chris Zoupa and Louis Dupont, has been off to a great start as an emerging project. The intentional frequency that the pair exude with their releases to date, has been tangible, so when we heard that they were back with Velocity, we were curious and couldn’t wait to share our experience.
Establishing the mood with a warbling bassline, a luscious synth melody and ethereal vocals, Astralix open Velocity with the signature level of dynamism that we have come to expect from the creators.
The flow of the lyrics holds a sense of familiarity and we appreciate the poetic prowess and expansive depth that they convey. The overarching feeling is cosmic, liberated, prophetic and sensual.
The presence of Gary on guitar is somewhat exotic and taps into an incredible ancient energy, before we experience a highly universal and connected middle eight. There is no doubt that the song is perfect for a cosmic Hollywood blockbuster, like Dune or a remake of The 5th Element, and is designed to allow us to connect with source.
Astralix cite inspirations from musical legends like Avicii, Tiesto, and David Guetta, but the refined energy that Astralix delivers puts them in a league of their own.
We have added Velocity to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our new TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream Astralix‘s wider discography, and anticipate the remainder of the album!
