Setting the tone with an elegant piano and guitar-infused cosmic melody with a dimensional bassline, erupting into a vibrant, yet immersive soundscape, Love Ghost open their latest collaborative single, Luna Azul with comforting, intentional prose.
The opus expands with a sense of familiarity, as we are taken on a thought-proving, emo-pop-rock journey with Spanish guitar nuance. Speaking on the message of Luna Azul (which means blue moon), lead singer Finnegan Bell confesses, “The song is about loneliness and growing into your own as a person.”
The immersive nature of the piece switches up with clarity, and evocative, inspiring lyricism and trap-adjacent drums – once again, showing us how genre-expansive Love Ghost‘s sound truly is. The finale words reference the title of the track in English, making for a full circle moment, reminding us of the love energy and warmth that Love Ghost has to offer.
We deeply appreciate the emotive presence of Mexican artists Helian Evans and MONDE on the track, and learn that Luna Azul is indeed co-produced by the band’s long term collaborator, BrunOG as well as MONDE!
Luna Azul is the first single from the upcoming Love Ghost EP, The Speed of Dreaming, due for release on February 23, and just performed the song at a live debut at the Trap House “one year anniversary” in Mexico City on February 17!
We love the artistic and trippy accompanying AI visual, which brings to life the profound nature of the song as a whole with a bright spectrum of colour. Naturally, we have added Luna Azul to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our new TIMELESS playlist, whist we continue to stream Love Ghost’s exceptional discography, and anticipate future releases.
