Setting the tone with elegant keys, the sound of soft falling rain and a luscious saxophone performance, Vincent Krennerich opens Sommerregen with a meditative nature and instrumental mastery.
Percussion nuances tease us, whilst we are lost in the charisma exhibited by the individual performances. We appreciate the full circle nature of the composition as we experience a dreamy piano outro, designed to play on loop perfectly.
We learn that Sommerregen translates from German as Summer Rain, hence the sound design detailing which brings to life this concept. The emerging composer confesses, “The atmosphere, chord progression, and melody of the song were inspired by the nostalgic feeling of summer rain.”
The metaphor generates a semblance of comfort, in line with the performances themselves. We connect deeply with the intricacy of the piano and the soothing energy of the saxophone.
Speaking candidly with reference to his artistry, Vincent Krennerich tells us, “I’m not a big fan of talking a lot about the meaning and interpretations of my music. Music, especially instrumental music, is an atmospheric projection surface, a sparsely painted canvas that every listener can use to paint and discover their very own experiences and interpretations within it.”
The conceptual elements of Vincent Krennerich creative process feels authentic and familiar, whilst projecting a production quality in line with the contemporary classical clarity spectrum.
We have added Sommerregen to our New Music Spotlight playlist as well as our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Vincent Krennerich‘s wider discography, including Abstraktion, and Lebendig.
