Drawing us in with an elegant and immersive synth arpeggio, Ninni opens his cover of White Christmas with a magnetic vocal performance and a transcendental sound design as he shares the iconic opening lyrics from the notable song.
The star croons as he dreams of the festive period, and ignites a nostalgia, in line with the original performers of the Christmas hit, including Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, and Irving Berlin.
We connect with Ninni‘s vocal timbre and are reminded of why we first fell in love with the star when we heard For the Last Time, and Have Fun (Remastered 2023).
The opus expands with a cosmic feel as we are taken from the drama of the original synth riffs to a higher vibrational energy, bringing to life the joyful nature of the Holiday season.
Textured percussion envelops us and an enigmatic and metallic solo allows us to deeper relate to the prose and importance of coming together at this time of year. The final note comes full circle with a minor key drama and we are in awe of the overarching energy that Ninni exudes with the cover.
Speaking on the release, Ninni says, “White Christmas has always been one of my favourite Christmas songs. I’ve decided and tried singing, playing and rearranging it from my musical perspective.”
The star also leaves us with the Beethoven quote, “To play a wrong note is insignificant. To play without passion is inexcusable!”, and adds his perspective by reiterating, “Passion and curiosity are everything in music.”
This certainly comes across with White Christmas and Ninni‘s wider discography, which we cannot get enough of. We have added the iconic cover to our New Music Spotlight playlist and our brand new TIMELESS playlist. whilst we continue to stream Ninni, and anticipate future hits from the rising talent.
