Drawing us in with an intimate, acoustic guitar performance, Joey Miceli opens String of Pearls with depth and authenticity as the talented vocalist shares the evocative prose, “Thank you for the day, I’ve had the time of my life, I sure the next one will say the same when you show them how to divine your love can feel at moments notice…”
The opus expands with instrumental mastery and raw emotion as the star takes us on a journey through one’s lived experience, sharing wisdom and philosophical nuance with an intentional brand of songwriting.
Speaking on the message of the song, Joey Miceli confesses, “The idea that if you believe in the good things coming to you, it may help aid the severance of friendships or relationships.”
The rising artist from from Las Vegas continues “The song was inspired by Phil Stutz‘ ‘string of pearls’ philosophy in his psychiatric practice. Each ‘pearl’ is an action taken, with each action having equal value. No action is more or less valuable than any other and all actions are to be celebrated as an important part of creating the string of pearls.”
Joey cites David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Sufjan Stevens, Jessica Pratt, and Fleetwood Mac as influences, which we can feel come through in their work, although there is no doubt that Joey is manifesting a sound that is unique to his own design.
We absolutely love the message, range and timbre of what Joey Miceli delivers, and we have added String of Pearls to our New Music Spotlight playlist as well as our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the creator’s growing discography, including Crimson, and Lovesick, and String of Pearls‘ accompanying demo, Pictures of Us.
