Setting the tone with a pitched, choral vocal singing the hook, “Everyday I pray that all this pain will go away, I hold my faith and trust that God’s gonna lead the way, I know i’ll make it through the storm and through the rain and I wont break until I see a brighter day…”, Dax opens Catch the Rain with an inspiring message before sharing evocative prose detailing his own woes and vulnerabilities.
This is one of the greatest reasons that Dax is on such a solid ascension as an artist. His words are genius and authentic. He allows us to connect with his soul and emotional depth, as he takes us on a poetic and conscious journey with his discography and of course, Catch the Rain is yet another incredible addition.
Of course, the release wouldn’t be complete without a music video, and this time we see Dax at church, in a confessional manner, in the studio, in line with the lyrics, and a narrative detailing an incident and eventual mortality.
The most powerful lyrics in the song is when Dax sings, “My greatest hits are my worst times compiled, I bottled up then shared to the world and that what’s made them global and that’s the f*cked up part popping prescriptions while giving vivid descriptions to people who clap listen while you stuck inside a prison slave to the algorithm…”
The commentary on his career and the music industry runs deep, and we applaud the creator for his openness and frankness as he invites us into his universe once again.
Speaking to his fans, Dax says, “This song means the world to me. Praying it reaches those who need it. This is one of my favorite songs I have every written. Thank you for taking the time and continuing to allow me to use my platform to spread positivity through impactful music for the people.”
We have added Catch the Rain to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Dax‘s wider discography, including Dear Alcohol, and JOKER.
