Setting the tone with a momentary, textured count in, a guitar riff and intricate notes, ALIA opens I’m Getting Off with raw authenticity as they share a powerful and sublime vocal with introspective prose.
The opus expands with emotion as ALIA showcases their incredible range, a charismatic timbre and poetic prowess with an intentional delivery that resonates deeply as we experience the essence of their soul.
We learn that I’m Getting Off was originally written and performed by Steven Young (also known as Mr Nobody). Steven and ALIA have been co-creating for over a year, and to breathe life into the track, the pair re-recorded it with ALIA‘s fierce and passionate vocal. I’m Getting Off is designed to be a debut single that embodies ALIA‘s conscious message as an artist.
The intimacy with Steven’s guitar performance is transcendental, creating a cohesive tapestry of sound with ALIA‘s energy and memorable delivery. Needless to say, we are captivated.
The creators confess that “the lyrics have a strength that signifies unity in not being alone within the difficulty we all face in this world, whether it is suffering on a global humanity level, political, mental illness, personal, relationships or family, friends. It is a message for the world to know light is born from the darkness, and not to fear the battle(s) we may come to face.”
ALIA tells us that they wanted to release the song around Christmas as it is “one of the toughest times for people due to numerous circumstances”, and they hope that “this comes of use to someone out there struggling with whatever they may be facing in this current climate.”
We appreciate the intention and raw depth that ALIA creates with, and have added I’m Getting Off to our New Music Spotlight playlist as well as our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream ALIA‘s teaser release, Soho Sessions. Side A.
