Setting the tone with an intricate, electric guitar melody and textured drums, Henniker open Knots with intrigue, dimensionality and metaphorical prose as they take us on an intimate and confessional journey.
The opus evolves with instrumental mastery and emotional depth as the stars share their soul with poetic prowess and authenticity. Needless to say, we are in awe.
We learn that the band from Provo is comprised of Ian Unick on drums, Eric Unick on bass guitar and backup vocals, whilst Mark Mann shares lead vocals, with Aidan Swainston slaying on lead guitar, and Thayne Carlson delivering an evocative performance on rhythm guitar.
The five piece tell us how Knots is designed to signify “the binding power of their friendship and the unbreakable connection they share through their music.”
Henniker cite the “enduring spirit of rock and roll”, as well as Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, Alabama Shakes, and Young the Giant as some of their sonic influences, which we can feel come through in their artistry, although it is clear that the group are manifesting a universe of their own.
We have added Knots to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the Henniker‘s wider discography, including Where Do We Go, and Look My Way.
