Setting the tone with an assertive and atmospheric vocal delivery, The Listros open Into The Otherside with evocative prose and a dimensional guitar soundscape. Needless to say, we are immediately in awe.
The opus expands with subversion and intrigue as the sibling duo take us on a cerebral journey with their narrative based prose and industrial rock aesthetic.
Speaking on the release, Sean and Evan Listro confess, “We’re going for a modern rock sound influenced by industrial and grunge bands of the 90s such as Nine Inch Nails, Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Nirvana.”
We can certainly feel the pair’s references come through in their sound, but there is also no doubt that they are manifesting a sonic universe of their very own. We learn that The Listros sound “comes from a combination of their love of rock, combined with the sonics and powerful dynamics of electronic music.”
By seamlessly combining these two influences, they have skilfully crafted a distinctive rock sound that pays homage to beloved bands of the past, while simultaneously offering a contemporary and accessible sound that resonates with audiences of today.
The overall performances are captivating, and we appreciate the authenticity that The Listros brothers exude with their debut. We have added Into The Otherside to our New Music Spotlight playlist as well as our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we anticipate future releases from the rising stars.
