We previously featured La Biche for her evocative and ethereal single, Combien, so when we heard that the star had returned with Éther, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Drawing us in with a meditative frequency and textured sound design, La Biche opens Éther with a thought-provoking message, and in line with the concept of the track, an ethereal energy.
The star shares an ASMR style delivery, with poetic prowess and intentional depth. Needless to say, we cannot get enough. We appreciate the immersive nature of the composition, and how La Biche‘s vocals fuse with the soundscape to create a cohesive and dynamic tapestry of sound.
La Biche coins her sound as “dream pop meets cloud rap”, and we are inclined to agree. We deeply connect with the transportive and other-worldly dimension that she creates with her composition.
We learn that the star creates with the intention to disconnect us from reality and align us with the universe, and Éther does just that! We are lost in the escapist universe that the star creates.
The creator, who is currently based in Paris, tell us that Éther is “a state of being.” She adds that it is “a feeling of weightlessness, a time for details and stretching between ideal and reality.”
