Our obsession with Edie Yvonne seems to grow with every listen. We previously featured the immersive and evocative, On Your Mind, and the intricate and atmospheric, Queen Bee, so when we heard that the star was back with a Halloween release titled, Darkness Bliss, we were curious to say the least!
Opening with a moody guitar soundscape with a memorable twang and a darker tone, in line with the title of the track, Edie opens Darkness Bliss with captivating prose as she takes us on an eye-opening journey.
Based around the concept of “a dramatized tale of a fallen friendship”, Edie Yvonne shares cerebral prose laced with poetic prowess and authenticity. Her philosophical mind shines through, and we are drawn into her subversive universe.
We love the harmonies, the layered vocals, the textured percussion, astral glitch nuances and the overall sound design and anthemic nature of the piece. We can imagine that fans of early Billie Eilish would be able to connect with Darkness Bliss.
Once again, the fantastic track is produced with Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta for Rrose, and marks another cohesive expansion in the rising creator’s career.
We have added the moody and dramatic Darkness Bliss to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our brand new TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream Edie Yvonne‘s discography, including the retro- pop tune Queen Bee.
