We previously featured Bear Beat as he shared the thought-provoking and evocative single, Feel It Too, so when we heard that the visionary creator was back with The Cave, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to share our experience.
The track opens with a cerebral frequency and commentary on working one’s whole life and the limits of the forty hour week. The opus expands with a dimensional, psychedelic synth and a vinyl texture, before we experience the voice of the iconic Alan Watts guiding us towards an evolved consciousness.
The main body of the composition is dynamic, cinematic and magnetic. We are enthralled by the sonic tapestry that Bear Beat creates. He adds a comedic and thought-provoking interlude from Philipp Kostelecky with astral notes that feel cosmically designed.
Rippling water and nature sounds surround us before the return of Alan Watts. We learn that the piece is inspired by Plato’s Allegory of the Cave. For reference, “Plato’s Cave”, is an allegory presented by the Greek philosopher in his work Republic to compare “the effect of education and the lack of it on our nature”. It is written as a dialogue between Plato’s brother Glaucon and his mentor Socrates, narrated by the latter.
Bear Beat finally shares his own voice, toward the end of the piece. His flow is evocative and profound, and needless to say, we are in awe of the speed of his delivery and the intricacy of his prose.
Bear Beat cites an extensive list of influences, including Solomun, Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Leftfield. Audiojack, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Run The Jewels, NWA, Bob Marley, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Mike Oldfield & Ledd Zeppelin and more as his influences, but there is no doubt that what the star is creating is unique to his own design and consciousness.
We learn that the talented producer creates with the intention to invite us to reflect on our own personal journeys, and The Cave encourages us to do just that. With the right balance of spiritual depth, understanding of the physical world and the motivation to connect with destined life path.
We have added The Cave to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our brand new TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream Bear Beat‘s expanding discography, and anticipate future releases from the star.
