We previously featured KMALECTRO when he took us on an evocative and mind-altering journey with HUMAN RACE ! STOP, so when we heard that the visionary creator was back with digital Highway, we were curious and couldn’t wait to share our experience.
Drawing us in with atmospheric soundscape, a riser and a boundless, cyber-tech-house electro frequency, showcasing nothing short of production mastery, KMALECTRO opens digital Highway with an expansive energy and a cinematic nature.
The opus evolves with comet-like astral synths, a playful bassline, vocal samples, and sound design nuances that take us on a dynamic and immersive journey with elements of psychedelia.
Speaking on the release of digital Highway, KMALECTRO confesses, “The inspiration stems from the intriguing theme of Big Data. It delves into the gradual evolution of the internet, which, at its inception, felt foreign to many, leaving people utterly perplexed about what was happening.”
The philosophical creator continues, “Today, the online realm has become so integrated into our lives that certain generations might struggle to comprehend the complexities of cyber threats. As artificial intelligence advances, we’re increasingly faced with scenarios where our personal data is manipulated for nefarious purposes.”
digital Highway comes with a trippy and captivating music video which allows a deeper look into the artist’s mind. With reference to the narrative, KMALECTRO tells us, “I’ve depicted vigilant guardians who scrutinize data packets and follow their path, all while individuals unknowingly become transparent as their data is intercepted.”
“Facebook’s infamous data breaches have been a powerful illustration of these concerns, as highlighted in numerous documentaries. It was this complex web of ideas and contemporary challenges that served as the muse for this track”, concludes KMALECTRO.
We are grateful for the wisdom that the German artist shares, and have added digital Highway to our brand new TRIPPY playlist, as well as our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream KMALECTRO‘s discography, including Guten Morgen Cologne, and chez moi.
