Drawing us in with astral synth bells, nuanced percussion and dynamic production with a boundless, subversive bassline, Maddy Storm opens Last Halloween with intrigue and dimensionality.
The opus expands with thought-provoking prose as Maddy takes us on an evocative journey with intricate flow and charismatic depth. Needless to say, we are in awe.
Speaking on the release, Maddy Storm confesses, “Last Halloween is a cathartic anthem about feeling lost in your 20s, it’s about mental health (and my lack thereof), and being scared of being a burden to those you love and not knowing how to fix it; it’s 3am notes from a people pleaser.”
The talented star continues with reference to the catharsis she gained from creating the song, and her purpose as a creator, “Writing this song helped me realise that self-sabotage can be followed by growth. It’s completely self-produced and mixed; my aim as an artist is to increase the percentage of women in production.”
We appreciate the instrumental mastery, the fierce and assertive nature of Maddy Storm‘s delivery and the uniqueness that abounds from her artistry. Last Halloween has been added tour New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our brand new TRIPPY playlist, whilst we explore Maddy Storm‘s wider discography.
