Setting the tone with an evocative and dynamic vocal sample and guitar soundscape with textured drums and astral harmonies, Luke Boor opens Queens with dimensionality and intrigue, before sharing situational prose with incredible charisma and a pristine vocal design. Needless to say, we are obsessed.
The opus expands with dimensionality to take us on a power pop meets indie rock hybrid journey as Luke Boor showcases his skill as a poet and his out of this world vocal range.
Queens tells “the tale of heartbreak on the NYC subway”, and the manner in which Luke Boor brings the piece to life feels timeless and at the same time progressive. The artist’s delivery is highly unique, and absolutely captivating – truly the makings of a megastar. The production by Mike Abiuso showcases nothing short of instrumental mastery.
Speaking on the release of Queens, Luke confesses, “When I wrote the song, I had just moved to New York and landed a job as a hotel doorman in The Financial District…at the time, life seemed epic, larger than life, just like my new home. Naturally, New York showed up in my songwriting.”
Elaborating on the collaborative effort, Luke adds, ““Mike was bringing the tune to life with instruments completely new to me: Wurlitzers, castanets…it all just added to the momentum and excitement I was feeling.”
We are in awe of the track, and have added Queens to our New Music Spotlight playlist, our Genre Bending playlist, as well as our brand new TRIPPY and TIMELESS playlists, whilst we anticipate future releases from Luke Boor.
