For over a decade we have been working consciously towards a non-violent future, following the ancient Vedic principles of Ahimsa in order to help manifest a more peaceful dimension on planet Earth.
At the same time, we work with conscious and vegan beauty brands to show that anything can be made vegan. Over the last few months, L’Oreal have invited us to a series of their events for their brands, Youth To The People and NYC Cosmetics.
If you are vegan and looking to purchase products from vegan brands, it might be best to avoid Youth To The People and NYX, as both brands might provide vegan products, but the marketing of these products is sadly not vegan.
Before writing this post, we reached out to L’Oreal’s head office, and their UK communications team, Jay Thapar and Tom Doran, as well as Greg Gonzalez, the founder of Youth To The People, to raise what we are about to share.
The Youth To The People launch in London had vegan catering, however, we discovered that follow up events were hosted at non-vegan restaurants. When we outreached to the various individuals involved, it was confirmed by attendees that the events were “not-vegan and barely vegetarian” (not that this is any better). This means that Youth To The People, despite purporting to be vegan, is not a vegan brand. The amount of animals that would have died for the media and influencer meals that they host must be in the hundred and thousands.
Moving onto NYX Cosmetics, another brand that purports to be vegan. Unfortunately, their UK Barbie Movie event was also non-vegan. There were trays of carcasses floating around the venue, whilst the branding on their products said “vegan”. Asking for a vegan dish resulted a confused looking chef trying to pull something together, we declined as this was a recipe for cross contamination.
If you are vegan and either already using these brands or considering using these brands, we figured you might want to know the truth. It’s disappointing and frankly disingenuous from L’Oreal, Youth To The People and NYX Cosmetics. Their blatant disregard of our outreach and offers for educational sessions (we have been presenting Manifesting A Vegan Future to various leading organisation in the UK and USA) to allow them to align their morals and actions truly demonstrates their unwillingness to learn and become a more conscious brand.
Genocides are not compatible with veganism. Genocides do not happen on a vegan planet. If one is still an animal abuser, and eating their flesh, and paying for their torture, and in turn consuming that violence, then the war is in them. Choose love and help manifest peace, speciesism is the root of all oppression. We do not support non-vegan brands, and needed to make this clear following our positive coverage of Youth To The People and NYX Cosmetics
A reminder that no one is free until the animals are free, speciesism is the root of all oppression, animals deserve love and freedom.
