Drawing us in with cosmic textures, and melodic nuances with an industrial sub bass and evocative strings arrangement, Vishwa Ganesh opens Grim’s Little Game with philosophical depth, and needless to say, we are enthralled.
The opus expands with luscious vocals, dynamism and cinematic sound design. We absolutely adore the dramatic drop laced with intricate details as the rising artist from Dubai shares his talent and poetic prowess with an existential, yet empowering theme.
Grim’s Little Game, which was aptly released on Friday 13, is designed to depict “a tale of our protagonist Teddy, and the one and only Grim Reaper.”
We learn that the single “relays scenes following a freak accident that kills Teddy instantly, and his subsequent reaction, shock and refusal when faced with the Reaper. He proceeds to run, desperately seeking to escape, and the music faultlessly follows suit – an immensely passionate, increasingly intense, and cinematic arrangement.”
We absolutely love the narrative-driven, metaphorical and expansive nature of the song, which feels progressive and thought-provoking. The experimental vibes are wholly appreciated, and we have added Grim’s Little Game to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our brand new TRIPPY playlist!
Vishwa Ganesh tells us how he has created Grim’s Little Game to be both “a stand-alone alt-pop offering and a boldly detailed new chapter of an ongoing story”, which we cannot wait to experience!
