It has been an incredibly creative year for Josh Tepper, and we have featured a slew of his latest releases, so when we heard that the star was back with Eyes of Jezebel, we were curious and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience!
Enticing us with an enigmatic electric guitar melody, Josh opens Eyes of Jezebel with intrigue and atmospheric, astral vocals with existential prose. We immediately connect with the range and philosophical nature that Josh shares with his performance and lyricism.
The glistening guitars and textured drums cohesively create a tapestry with Josh’s luscious harmonies and unique brand of storytelling. Speaking on the message of the release, Josh confesses, “Eyes of Jezebel is about evil and dark energies that come into your life, and turn it upside down.”
We appreciate the poignance of the star’s words, and how the overarching concept of the song allows for introspection. The creator continues with wisdom, “When evil energy comes into your life it feels like the end, but in reality it’s the light leading you to truth.”
Elaborating on what inspires him, Josh quips, “I love indie rock, music you can drive to, or get stoned to”, and cites Pat Benatar, U2, and Red Hot Chili Peppers which we can absolutely feel him channel on the record, in his own unique and quintessential Josh Tepper manner!
Needless to say, we have added Eyes of Jezebel to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his ever expanding discography, and anticipate new releases from the visionary.
