Setting the tone with the sound of a car door shutting and a vehicle engine starting up, Said The People open Molly! with a fierce and intricate guitar soundscape, showcasing nothing short of instrumental mastery, and a dynamic nature that we cannot get enough of!
The composition expands into a high octane adventure, as Said The People share a somewhat enigmatic, narrative-driven experience with the opening lyrics, “She’s got me running, ’bout a thousand miles an hour…”
We immediately connect with the journey that Said The People are taking us on, and the charm and charisma that the opus exudes. Speaking on the release, the band from Fort Worth confess, “Molly! is a song written about the fast paced love for a woman…or perhaps something else? We leave it to listener (user) interpretation.”
The creators tell us, “The original guitar riff took heavy inspiration of from the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King. We wanted to take that style and create a hard rock groove that brought it to life.” We deeply appreciate the solo and their additional sonic references including Black Stone Cherry, The Avett Brothers, and The Revivalists, although there is no doubt that Said The People are creating a universe of their own.
When elaborating on their intentional brand of song creation, the band said, “Said The People has one outstanding goal when it comes to writing, to make music by the people, for all the people. No matter your race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, whatever it may be…know you are loved, and know that this music is meant for you.”
Said The People is comprised of Logan Leavoy and Colten Lane on guitar and vocals, whilst Dalton Walters slays energetically on drums, and Rich Regier provides dimensionality on bass. Molly! was recorded and produced by award winning producer Bart Rose at Fort Worth Sound studio.
We love what Said The People are sharing, and have added Molly! to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream their growing discography including Simple Mind, and anticipate future releases from the stars.
