Drawing us in with textured drums and an astral guitar performance, Keyside open Angeline with charismatic vocals and emotive, situational prose with reference to their muse.
The opus expands with instrumental mastery to take us on an evocative journey with introspective nuance and elements of existentialism. We learn that “Angeline is a story about a woman who battles to provide for herself and her family. Dealing with her own bad habits and the pressure of giving support to her family, she struggles to find relief, ultimately pushing her towards her own breakdown.”
The anthemic nature of the song is tangible, and we appreciate the emotional depth and poetic prowess that the band share to bring their message to life.
It is no surprise that the track has already been “lifting the lid at venues in the North-West and has fast become the band’s latest anthem in front of a growing army of fans.”
The creators, who recently signed to Modern Sky UK, cite bands such as The La’s, The Smiths and The Police as influences, which we love. Fans of Arctic Monkeys will also be able to connect with Keyside‘s sound, although there is no doubt that the rising band from Liverpool are creating a universe of their own.
We have added Angeline to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the rising band’s wider discography including their debut single, Light Out, and their sophomore release, Paris to Marseille, and anticipate future releases from the talented foursome.
