Drawing us in with a meditative frequency and a divergent, astral synth melody, Danil opens These Thoughts with intrigue, dimensionality and a luscious vocal design as he sings the introspective lyrics, “I used to think that I’d never be good enough, honestly sometimes I still feel that way…”
The opus expands with nothing short of instrumental mastery, to take us on an evocative, relatable and authentic journey laced with poetic prowess and emotional depth, dealing with “recurring, destructive thoughts.”
We appreciate the innovation in the production, as well as the ad lib nuances, cosmic synths, and pulsating energy which feels inspiring, yet transcendental, in line with the overarching concept of the piece.
Speaking on his artistry, Danil confesses, “My songs reflect my personal experiences, including mental health, empowerment and spirituality.” The middle eight is an empowering trip with epic vocal runs and a self-realized nature, before an anthemic final reprise and fade out, something super unique to songs created in this day and age!
We learn that Danil is the moniker of multi-disciplinary artist Daniel Knieps – a Virgo from Wittlich, who currently lives in Künzelsau in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Danil cites sonic influences from the 80s and 90s, plus grunge, eurodance and international pop music to create his own dynamic universe.
We have added These Thoughts to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Danil‘s existing discography, including the Stripped version of the song, and anticipate future releases from the star.
