We first featured Edie Yvonne for her immersive and evocative single, On Your Mind, so when we heard that the rising star was back with Queen Bee, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Drawing us in with a luscious and cinematic synthscape with textured percussion and a dimensional melody, Edie Yvonne opens Queen Bee with situational and thought-provoking prose.
The composition takes us on a dynamic and immersive journey with psychedelic nuances whilst Edie Yvonne shares poetic charisma as she invites us into her world. We are in awe of the power pop adjacent vocal design and the intricacies of Edie’s sonic landscape.
Speaking on the release, Edie tells us, “I wrote Queen Bee to go hand in hand with a short film I’m working on about mean girls and their minions.”
The track is in collaboration with emerging producers Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta, and there is no doubt that with the right support, Edie has the skillset to make it as a massive future popstar.
We love Queen Bee and Edie Yvonne‘s overarching sound, and have added the opus to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream her wider discography and anticipate future releases from the rising teen sensation.
