Setting the tone with astral keys and a dimensional synth, Sofia Evangelina opens Lone Wolf with a luscious ad lib and evocative and self-reflective prose. Needless to say, we are mesmerized.
The opus expands with poetic and metaphorical prowess, along with a highly charismatic delivery from Sofia Evangelina as she invites us into her inner monologue and situational reality. We are mesmerized by her captivating flow and emotional depth, as well as the late 90s meets early 2000s adjacent pop production which reminds us of megastars such as P!nk and Christina Aguilera.
Speaking on the message of Lone Wolf, Sofia confesses, “The song is about the lonely path one has to overcome on the way to success. Through this time, there could be a misunderstanding by friends and family, betrayals, envy, lack of support, your own doubts (is this the way?) … and yet the Lone Wolf keeps moving.”
The star continues, “I was only seventeen when I recorded the song, it was a pandemic time, I felt lonely and isolated, Toronto’s many businesses were shut down, and it looked like a ghost town.”
We appreciate the authenticity that Sofia Evangelina conveys with her artistry, as well as the multi-disciplinary approach she has with her high-calibre creative universe.
A music video for Lone Wolf is set for release soon and features “an out-of-this-world creature who with the innocence of the soul and the spirit of a lone wolf, navigates through external and internal struggles and obstacles, on the way to finding itself on the top.”
We cannot wait to experience the visual, and in the meantime we are immersing ourselves in Sofia Evangelina‘s stunning editorial photos for the release, as well as her wider discography including Get Outta My Head, and Smile.
