Hassan Bin Rashid shares emotive and thought-provoking debut single, Refugee

Setting the tone with a dimensional guitar soundscape, Hassan Bin Rashid opens Refugee with a charismatic vocal performance, laced with poetic depth and self-realized prose.

The opus expands with charm to take us on a passionate journey of introspection as Hassan Bin Rashid seeks to better understand the situational identity of those that seek refuge, what holds them back and their expansive nature.

We appreciate the star’s vocal timbre which reminds us of rockstars from the 90s, including Sting, and the magnetic way in which he shares his story which shows how he truly creating a universe of his own.

We learn that Refugee is the first single from Hassan Bin Rashid‘s forthcoming record 21 Grams, described as “a unique East-meets-West rock album” and “a beguiling, heartfelt, thought-provoking marriage of the Western rock loved by one who has lived in Florida the Netherlands and New Zealand, to the Arabic sounds of his upbringing.”

Refugee itself features two Syrian refugee performers, who, according to Hassan “added a happy bassline, which works so, so well.” He adds, “They explained that refugees want to deal with life, not sound melancholic.”

We love the overall message and soundscape that Hassan Bin Rashid has to share, and have added Refugee to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we anticipate the release of his upcoming album later this year!
