Our fondness for Natalie Clark seems to grow with every listen. We previously featured the star for her uplifting and anthemic single, How High, and the immersive and inspiring, Mission, so when we heard that Natalie was back with Late Train, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Late Train opens with an elegant guitar performance as Natalie shares metaphorical prose as she sings, “Lift the rug from under my feet, since it started I can’t get to sleep, I felt it coming like a late train, and I knew it’d never be the same…”
The opus evolves with a reassuring, optimistic message and timeless contemporary pop soundscape as Natalie conveys authentic lyricism, sharing her wisdom with intentional depth.
Speaking on the release, Natalie Clark, who was raised in Glasgow, Scotland and has since moved to Los Angeles, confesses, “I wanted a really tough and strong sound to reflect the lyrics and empower the listener.”
We learn that Late Train was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Todd Spadafore, elaborating on how it came about, Natalie says, “I brought the song idea to Todd and then we worked through the production to try and create a powerful, fierce atmosphere.”
An incredible accomplishment for Natalie is the fact that at the request of Richard Branson, she performed at the BBC Radio 1 Academy sessions, and appeared on The Voice capturing the attention of Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera! Natalie was also chosen by KTLA as an “Artist to Watch”, in turn performing at The Roxy and Greek Theatre in LA.
We love what Natalie Clark is creating, and have added Late Train to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream her wider discography, and anticipate future releases from the talented artist.
