Establishing the mood with a compressed, Latin-guitar soundscape and Spanish ad libs, Otto Botté opens Inquieto with intrigue and charisma, before expanding into clarity with a riser.
The opus evolves with evocative prose from the New York based, Colombian artist, as he takes us on a genre-expansive journey with a “Summer-filled reggaeton song for the post-social distancing age.”
We appreciate the charm that Otto Botté conveys with his prose and performance, and the accompanying instrumental mastery which is filled with intricacy, tapping into a timeless nature with a contemporary feel.
Inquieto comes with a cinematic music video which echoes the message of the lyrics and demonstrates the performance chops of the star. Speaking on the message of the release, Otto Botté confesses, “The single embraces the unsettling journey of goodbyes zooming in on life’s uncertainty, picking up where standout Dancing Company effectively left off.”
We learn that after arriving in New York City as a teenager from Bogotá, self-taught Otto Botté has been acclaimed for his engineering work on the multi-platinum projects of Enrique Iglesias, Descemer Bueno, and Deadpool; eventually earning him the 2015 Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording-Non-Classical for Robin Schulz remix of “Waves” by Mr. Probz working alongside his mentor, Mark Christensen!
His experience certainly shines through on Inquieto, and we love what Otto Botté has to offer, which is why we have added Inquieto to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his 5-track debut EP, Dancing Company, Vol.1, and anticipate future releases from the star.
