The epic Love Ghost are back and this time they’ve teamed up with Dan Garcia, so needless to say, we couldn’t wait to hear what they had to offer us!
Setting the tone with panning breathy vocals and a subversive guitar soundscape, GLOCK opens with an assertive delivery in Spanish from Dan Garcia as he invites us into his badass universe. His flow is evocative, and coupled with a dimensional bassline and fierce add libs, we are mesmerized.
“The freak inside the cage, succumbs to all his rage…” sings lead singer Finnegan in an almost ASMR fashion, which reminds us of Smashing Pumpkins. Speaking on the release, the creators confess, “GLOCK is an unleashing of your inner beast, the self you mostly keep inside a cage.”
We learn that the opus was inspired by both artist’s love for competitive fighting. As a side note, Dan Garcia was a competitive wrestler in his formative years and Finnegan has trained in martial arts his entire life!
The trap metal meets hard Latin hybrid production was produced by Eipi, who is a frequent collaborator of Dan Garcia, and was recorded in Mexico! GLOCK also comes with a sickening music video showcasing the performance prowess of both Dan and Finnegan, bringing to life the concept of the high octane song.
The creator also cite Scarlxrd, Ghostemane and City Morgue as sonic inspirations, but there is no doubt that GLOCK showcases a unique sound of its own!
We have added GLOCK to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Love Ghost‘s wider discography and explore what Dan Garcia has to offer!
