We immediately connect with the introspective depth and self-realized nature of ARO‘s words, as she takes us on a personal and evocative journey, accompanied by instrumental mastery.
We learn that ARO‘s debut single tells “the story of heartbreak from the perspective of a routine saboteur.” We appreciate the poetic prowess that ARO shares and the relatable, yet equally high concept nature of her message.
Speaking on her philosophical approach to song creation, ARO confesses, “I think there are some people in the world who have no choice but to make art. Their inner worlds, their experiences, the depth of their ability to feel, would absolutely wreck them otherwise. I don’t believe art necessitates pain, but I do think a lot of us make beautiful things as a way to make meaning out of it all.”
The rising star continues, “So much of my art is about giving the darker parts of myself a platform. There are these aspects of myself that cannot be tamed, and so instead of beating my head against a wall trying to control them I’ve found that my art allows me to be in relationship with them.”
ARO adds, “When I write I’m not butting in to tell them how they should be, I’m not trying to get them to behave, or do better, or have a positive outlook, I’m just letting that part of me speak freely. And I learn a lot about myself through this process.”
For the release of Let Me Go, ARO worked with alternative pop producer, Caden Jester to create her dimensional and immersive soundscape. We have added the track to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we anticipate future releases from ARO!
