We previously featured CS Hellmann as he shared his lived experience on the evocative, yet cathartic, Up Til Dawn, so when we heard that the star had just released The Fear I Felt, we couldn’t wait to listen and feed back!
Drawing us in with a cerebral frequency and textured drums, CS Hellmann opens The Fear I Felt with philosophical prose as he sings, “Fear isn’t always a long and lonely journey, years of painful learning to test…”
We are immediately captivated by CS Hellmann elegant and charming vocal timbre, and the authenticity that he shares with his words, as he takes us on a personal journey that is also highly relatable.
Speaking on the release, CS Hellmann confesses, “The Fear I Felt is a coming of age story for me developing into a songwriter and artist. In my early development my dad told me that I wasn’t good enough to do it. I had to prove him wrong that I was capable of doing it if I worked really hard at it.”
The star’s intentional brand of song creation is something we connect with deeply. The Nashville-based artist channels anger, frustration, and fear into positive and calming energy, which once again feels cathartic for both his audience and the artist himself.
The composition showcases nothing short of instrumental mastery, and the build and his vocal range are both exquisite. Needless to say, we have added The Fear I Felt to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream CS Hellmann‘s wider discography, including Down the Hollow, and Up Til Dawn.
