Setting the tone with rippling drums and a ska-punk meets reggae energy, François Marius opens Ça Roule Rastaman with vibrancy and eloquent flow in French as he shares situational and metaphorical constructs with his prose.
The opus expands with intention and depth to take us on an evocative journey full of optimism and charm, needless to say, we are in awe. The phrase “Ça roule” in French is an informal way to say “OK”, “Alright” or “Agreed” depending on context, but in this context we love to think of it as “That’s cool, Rastaman”.
We learn that François Marius hails from Canada, and the song was mastered at the Abbey Road Studio in London by a Grammy winner who remastered the album by The Beatles! This certainly comes through in the instrumental mastery demonstrated on the track!
We appreciate the saxophone solos, and François Marius‘s flow and references are exquisite. We love the vocal harmonies, and the creative intricacies that have gone into the soundscape of the composition.
The tropical edge feels inspiring and enlightening, fused with the star’s charismatic vocal timbre. We can only imagine how epic this would be to experience live in a festival environment.
We have added Ça Roule Rastaman to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to anticipate future releases from the talented rising artist, François Marius!
