Setting the tone with a reverberating electric guitar melody, before expanding into a clean and contemporary pop adjacent mix of the same riff, Christine Tarquinio opens You and Me with dimensionality and intrigue.
The opus expands with authenticity as Christine Tarquinio shares her soul and message with a timeless manner, evoking a sense of nostalgia, whilst remaining wholly relatable with her prose.
You and Me serves as a prelude of what’s to come with the star’s upcoming EP, Silhouette, set for release in July. We learn that the composition is a moving musical letter that was written in response to the challenges of COVID-19 lockdowns. It expresses a sense of optimism and hope for a better future.
Speaking on the release, Christine Tarquinio tells us, “The song was easy to write as I had a lot of time on my hands being in lockdown. I wrote the song with my guitar and as always, I came up with the chords and melody first and the lyrics once I decided on the theme of “one day we’ll be free” the song almost wrote itself.”
The track demonstrates instrumental mastery, and was produced by Joshua Hennessy of Pivotal Music Melbourne. The song is being released alongside a playful and nostalgic music video, created as a collaboration with Christine’s husband, of 20 years, and two beautiful children.
The rising artist leaves us with some meaningful words as she confesses, “Being a mother is a huge influence on my music. You just want to do your best to show them how to navigate their way through life and hope that they succeed.”
We have added You and Me to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Christine Tarquinio including Falling Free.
