Moose Wrench share inspiring and evocative visual for Not Dead Yet

We believe that it is one’s human right to be an artist in this reality, so when we discovered Moose Wrench had just released Not Dead Yet, a song with lyrics “if there’s still some life in you, get up off your fat ass and sing…” as the hook, we were intrigued to say the least.

The opus showcases a rock meets metal hybrid energy, and inspiring yet subversive lyrics speaking from the perspective of artists who have channelled their energy into song design, as opposed to dying with regrets.

Not Dead Yet comes with a music video set in Leeds, which sees singer Craig Robertson get hit by a car before breaking into a garage-rock performance showcasing that anything is possible. It’s inspiring to experience a band with an authentic message, and we know for certain that the best songs in the world are by self-created artists.

We appreciate the way the track trips between rock and this sort of deathcore vibe, which obviously fits the concept of the track. The performances from the band feel super hyperreality and we love the comedic nature of the visual.

Craig Robertson, who plays keytar and shares vocals, is joined by Colin Sutton on bass, and Thom Gardner on drums. They cite Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Primus, Ween, and Sleeptime Gorilla Museum as some of their influences, but there is no doubt that they are creating a universe of their own. Moose Wrench describe themselves as “the ultimate in dad-bod alt-core”, which can only be relatable!

We love how the band invites us to “age disgracefully and loudly and dress accordingly”, breaking down a multitude of stereotypes, which simultaneously dismantling ageism. We have to stan. You can stream and buy Not Dead Yet on Bandcamp!
