Bright Tree Village share intentional and empowering new single, The Spark

Setting the tone with an intimate acoustic guitar performance, Bright Tree Village open The Spark with an emotive ad lib and atmospheric vocals, as they share the situational and metaphorical prose, “You pulled through, a door into a hallway, you can’t find the air, you look down, at the shoes you remember cos they are not icy stares…”

We immediately connect with the authenticity that Bright Tree Village exude with the opus. Their instrumental mastery is tangible and the depth of their personal experience transpires into exquisite song writing.

Speaking on the release, the duo confess, “The Spark is a self-help rock anthem for those that feel othered–like outsiders based on how they have chosen to live their life.”

We learn that Bright Tree Village is comprised of Jeff August on vocals, and Tim Leehane on guitar, bass, keyboard, and vocals. They identify as “a dad rock duo that is about more than just playing old music.” They tell us that they “care about taking care of people and looking out for those who feel marginalized”, which we appreciate!

The empowering and inclusive nature of The Spark is much needed in this day and age, and we are grateful that Bright Tree Village are sharing their voices to unite at a time when the culture needs oneness the most.

The chorus, “So put your hands in our hands, and heart in heart, trust you with our heart, together we are the spark…” is testament to the intention of the duo. Anecdotally, Jeff and Tim tell us, “It took us a long time to get this one right. There were times we almost shelved this track, but we kept coming back to it. And we’re so glad we did.”

We too are glad that they finished and released The Spark, and we have added the composition to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Bright Tree Village‘s wider discography including Sunday, and Understanding.
