Setting the tone with an immersive cosmic frequency, The Amanda Emblem Experiment open Power of One with atmospheric vocals and conscious lyricism with reference to oneness.
We appreciate the layered vocals, and the raw and authentic nature of the recording which taps into ancient wisdom and connecting with the universe.
The chord changes lend themselves to a spiritual retro power pop hybrid energy, and there are moments with a more subversive nuance as The Amanda Emblem Experiment call for revolution with their very essence and united essence of us all.
This left us curious about The Amanda Emblem Experiment and so we were thrilled to see that Power of One was just the first track of a five track EP of the same name, which includes the reggae-folk-adjacent Empty House where we feel like we learn more about the artist behind the moniker.
Hang Your Hat feels like an Elvis Presley song, and needless to say, we are obsessed, whilst Mitchell Creek Blues is what it says on the tin and features more of the band on vocals with an epic guitar solo to boot! Then there’s the stunning and stripped back acoustic version of Empty House which really allows us to hear the talent behind the project!
Speaking on her artistry, Amanda ponders, “Can one person make a difference?”, and exclaims passionately, “Maybe you will!”
The star continues, “Power of One is a statement about the state of the world today and the humans who inhabit it. This is music for the thinkers and dreamers, designed to wake up and inspire the conversations we should have sooner, rather than later. A song with a message that soothes the senses.”
We appreciate what The Amanda Emblem Experiment create, and have added Power of One to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of The Amanda Emblem Experiment, including their previous album, The Last Miracle.
