ERKAN showcases his emotional depth and rich vocal timbre with expansive and dramatic new single, At the End of My Time

Setting the tone with a cerebral yet natural texture, and an elegant acoustic guitar performance, ERKAN opens At the End of My Time with a vintage vocal and expressive lyricism as he reflects and sings situationally, “I don’t really take that route anymore, even if it’s the shortest way home, I don’t really sit at that cafe anymore, it was our favourite spot to read in, you know how it is, how it goes…”

The opus expands into a commentary the human condition, and what happens in a post love reality. We appreciate his depth and poetic prowess, and the drama that ensues with the opus. The electronica nuances are riveting, and the strings arrangement feels transcendental. The overarching journey is refined, showcasing instrumental mastery from the star, and needless to say, we are in awe.

We learn that ERKAN was born in Ankara, Turkey, and started his music career as a drummer. From there he expanded his musical knowledge with guitar and vocals to become a songwriter.

ERKAN cites bands including Camel, Genesis, and King Crimson who influenced his drumming style, and tells us that he grew up listening to Sting, ABBA, Pink Floyd, Steven Wilson, and heavier bands such as Iron Maiden and Metallica. Fans of Steven Wilson, King Creosote and Olafur Arnalds will also be able to connect with ERKAN, although there is no doubt that the composer is creating a sound of his own.

We have added At the End of My Time to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream ERKAN‘s debut single, Constellations.
