Setting the tone with an elegant astral melody, Cas du Pree opens London with situational and emotive prose as he sings, “This feels like home, I’ve never had this feeling before…”
The opus expands into an ode to the artist’s favourite city, laced with luscious vocal harmonies and inspiring lyricism. We appreciate the poetic prowess and authenticity that Cas du Pree evokes with his energy.
The instrumental segments with textured risers before the middle eight is dynamic and masterful, whilst the hummed vocal add libs evoke a deep emotional connection with what the star is conveying.
Speaking on the release of London, Cas du Pree confesses, “I remember growing up and always drawing the Union Jack, and always asking what some English words meant.”
He continues, “My parents always turned to English when they didn’t want me to hear something. But soon enough I understood every word. I have and will always be drawn to England and London especially. This truly is my favourite place on earth and I visit London whenever I can.”
We learn that the Dutch artist cites Sam Smith, Celine Dion, Elton John, and Dua Lipa as some of his influences, although it is clear that Cas du Pree is creating a sound of his own.
As a platform based in London, we appreciate Cas du Pree‘s sincerity, and have added London to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the artist’s wider discography including Kelly and Punchline.
