As huge fans of Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends, we were super intrigued to hear his new single, the aptly titled, My Favourite Song.
The opus opens with a powerful question, as Arne sings, “Why do I read all these books? Why do I still wanna know?”m before taking us on an adult-oriented-rock trip with luscious horns and self-realized lyrical depth.
We always love the poetic nature of Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends‘ words, and the wisdom that he continues to share. The introspective questions that lead My Favourite Song are relatable and ones that we should all be asking ourselves.
Speaking on the release, Arne confesses, “I was aiming for the sound and feel of the mid seventies on this one. I asked drummer Andreas Quincy Dahlbäck if he could play it like Ronnie Tutt (Elvis’s drummer in the Vegas years), which he did with panache!”
The star continues, “The lyrics concludes that life can be shit – but that it has beautiful moments: a favourite song played on radio, the smell of roses during summer, a cup of coffee.”
We absolutely love the sentiment and authenticity that Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends shares with his releases, and My Favourite Song is no exception. The instrumental solos are masterful and transcendental with incredible power-pop adjacent vocal design to truly tug at our heart strings!
It’s truly the nostalgia and exquisite chord progressions that are the deepest hook for us, the sound design is also perfect for the name of the composition!
We have added My Favourite Song to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends‘ powerful wider discography!
