Spyderhuff share incredible cover of The Rolling Stones’ Sympathy for the Devil to support their album, SIN7

Drawing us in with a textured riser and intricate percussion, Spyderhuff open their cover of The Rolling Stones Sympathy for the Devil with rippling drums, intrigue and subversion, as we experience the iconic prose, “Please allow me introduce myself, I’m a man of wealth and taste, I’ve been around for a long long years, stole a million men’s soul and faith…”

Naturally, we are obsessed with the concept of the song, and the open minded nature of what Spyderhuff are creating with their re-work of the original opus. We appreciate the instrumental mastery and the cohesive tapestry of sound that the band deliver, tapping into a sense of nostalgia and a blues-rock vibe.

Spyderhuff features Tom Kuhr on vocals, guitar, harmonica, sax, synth, Don Beyer on bass and synth, whilst Jim Pauli plays drums, Joey Gaydos shares his skill on the guitar, Tony Mitchell performs congas, bongos, drums, and backing vocals, and Julie Noe adds backing vocals!

The talented band’s current project is a high concept album about the Seven Deadly Sins, entitled SIN7 – track names are the aptly titled, Lazy Soul, Angry Flames, Girl in the Photo, What You Have, Never Am I Full, The Mirror, and The More That I Get.

Fans of John Hiatt, Government Mule, ZZ-Top, Lou Reed, Dire Straits, Steve Earle, Leo Kottke, The Black Keys, The B-52’s, Beck, Moby, Warren Zevon, Tom Waits, and James McMurtry will be able to connect with Spyderhuff, although it is clear that they are creating a universe of their own!

We have added Sympathy for the Devil to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream SIN7 in full, and anticipate future releases from the talented band!
