We have been intently following the rise and artistic evolution of MOLTENO with the releases of her innovative and immersive, fire-inspired EP, Element 1, and her atmospheric and celestial astral projection anthem, Moonlight, so when we heard that MOLTENO had just released Stars, we were excited to listen and feed back!
Establishing the mood with an astral frequency and luscious vocal textures, MOLTENO opens Stars with a dimensional bassline, atmospheric percussion and an immersive synth melody, needless to say, we are in awe.
The opus expands with the artist’s signature ethereal vocals, glistening bells and trip-hop sensibilities to take us on yet another evocative journey as she asks, “Can you see the stars shine?”
We appreciate the instrumental respites showcasing the masterful production, created to be “a transcendent journey through MOLTENO‘s immersive sonic and visual universe.”
We learn that the track is “a reflection of MOLTENO‘s contrasted perception of life growing up, walking a tightrope between positivity and negativity. It’s a reminder that, despite our small place in this universe, we have the power to persevere and choose a positive pathway.”
Naturally, MOLTENO has received comparisons to Björk and Bat For Lashes, but there is no doubt that what she is creating is unique to her own philosophies and soundscape.
Stars is the second single from Element 2, one of four EPs that celebrate the elements and the way nature connects us. We love the body of work that MOLTENO is creating and have added Stars to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream her wider discography and anticipate future releases from the visionary artist.
