Setting the tone with cerebral textures, and a dimensional, immersive riser, MASSIMO DE SIMONE opens Danza Aliena with intrigue, atmospheric vocals and metaphorical lyricism.
The opus expands with an astral bell melody and clarity, as the rising artist from Italy takes us on a seductive and thought-provoking pop-adjacent journey with depth and poetic nuance.
We love the ebbs and flows of the composition, and how MASSIMO DE SIMONE brings to life his conceptual mindset. We learn that Danza Aliena is conceived as “an imaginary journey, in the company of an alien brother”.
Expanding on the concept, the artist “wonders if somewhere in the universe, an alien brother already exists, ready to guide us in the discovery of his world, curious in turn to know ours… who has noticed us and is considering introducing himself to us, among infinite doubts and unknowns to face, driven by an instinct and an irrational and unstoppable desire to connect with us.”
He continues with depth, “It may not be easy to communicate and understand with him, if not through an empathy that arises from spiritual and mystical resonances, however powerful, capable of making us more aware of who we are, in the incredible complexity and vastness of the universe.”
With reference to the intention of the piece, MASSIMO DE SIMONE tells us that he wishes to “awaken our essence and allow the recovery of an ancestral knowledge”, which we appreciate.
Danza Aliena was arranged, recorded and mixed by Dodoppio Bemolle Studio, with mastering by Mastering Karibu Mastering. We have added Danza Aliena to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream MASSIMO DE SIMONE‘s wider discography, including Quasar viola, and La tua voce.
