Tsunamiz takes us on a genre expansive, psychedelic trip with intricate and subversive new single, Party Anthem

Setting the tone with a dimensional, pulsating beat with cerebral percussion and astral synths, Tsunamiz opens Party Anthem with subversion and electronica mastery, needless to say, we are obsessed.

The opus expands with atmospheric vocals and psychedelic nuance to take us on a trip through the creative spirit of Tsunamiz. We are mesmerized by the fierce bassline that appears bright and then compressed to deeply penetrate our minds before the star shares his wisdom with assertive and empowering prose.

We learn that Party Anthem is the second single released from Tsunamiz‘s upcoming album, Kultur Is Dead, due for release later this year on September 23!

We experience an out of this world guitar solo two-thirds of the way through the track, showcasing Tsunamiz‘s ability to create a cohesive, genre expansive tapestry of sound, laced with memorable pop hooks, thereby creating the perfect alternative Party Anthem! The psychedelic synth finale is exquisite and has us reaching for the repeat button as a luscious vocal outro sends us to another dimension!

Party Anthem comes with a trippy, acid-inspired music video directed by Realish’ Films, designed to encapsulate the overall avant-garde and psychedelic feeling of the track.

Speaking on the release, Tsunamiz confesses, “This song is an hybrid between Nirvana, Gorillaz and Sleaford Mods. As for the lyrics, it’s about personal freedom and an ode to psychedelia.” Whilst we appreciate Tsunamiz‘s references, there is no doubt that the rising star from Portugal is creating a universe of his own!

We learn that Tsunamiz is the stage name of artist Bruno Sobral, and that he records his albums by himself, releasing an album almost every year, fast-tracking him to becoming one of the most prolific and promising Portuguese artists of his generation.

Party Anthem has been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Tsunamiz‘s wider discography including Attack, and his 2022 album, Looney Tunez.
