Setting the tone with a cerebral and metallic synthscape with intricate, rising percussion and textured drums, LearningToDive opens Drums of War with intrigue and dimensionality, as he takes us on a situational yet metaphorical journey with his prose.
We immediately connect with LearningToDive‘s unique brand of storytelling, as he delivers evocative themes and subversive visual constructs with high concept lyricism.
The opus expands into a dark-wave meets trip-hop hybrid sound. We love the immersive nature, the meditative respite mid-way through the composition, and the charismatic delivery that LearningToDive, who is also known as multi-disciplinary artist, Bravo Bonez.
Drums of War is LearningToDive‘s debut single from his upcoming EP, and we learn that Bravo’s new moniker is designed to host his “serious thoughts and perspectives on society and the planet.” Bravo tells us that he has always had “a rather cynical attitude towards war, and the way populations are manipulated to achieve the aims of small groups of very powerful people.”
On Drums of War, the star shares his perspective on the issue at hand, and is “an emotional reaction to the way wars are built, and promoted.” The composition is naturally written and composed by Bravo Bonez, with co-production courtesy of Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Mel C) engineered and mixed by Clint Murphy (Enter Shikari, 50 Cent), and features additional vocals by Alba Rose with drums by Greg Haver.
We deeply appreciate the point of view that LearningToDive shares, and have added the subversive Drums of War to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his album, Norwegian Pop, and anticipate future releases from the star.
