We previously featured Canadian rapper, Kurst, as he took us on a high concept, poetic journey laced with cultural references on his single, The Oracle, so when we heard that the rising star had also released Noise, we couldn’t wait to experience it!
Drawing us in with an astral synth melody with cerebral nuance and a fierce kick drum, Noise opens with atmospheric vocals and profound lyricism full of metaphors, as Kurst showcases his poetic prowess and philosophical depth.
The opus expands with an evocative flow, and with reference to the message of the track, the visionary from Canada confesses, “Noise is a song about dealing with the inevitable doubt that accompanies chasing your goals. It’s about filtering out all the NOISE to keep focused on your path in life.”
We appreciate the intention and the energetic soundscape that Kurst delivers. His references and hooks are awesome, in line with the wider body of his discography.
As a reminder, the moniker Kurst is an acronym for “King Under Really Stressful Times”, and was inspired during a difficult time in the artist’s life. He says, “This is where I really started to take music seriously, as it provided me an therapeutic outlet and a form of expression.”
We have added Noise to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Kurst‘s wider discography including Action, The Oracle, and Slasher!
