Setting the tone with a dimensional guitar soundscape, Burning River open Ignition with drama, intrigue and instrumental precision. Needless to say, we are in awe.
The opus expands with a fierce and assertive vocal, as Burning River take us on subversive and emotive journey with a concept that is both thought-provoking and evocative. Speaking on the message of the track. the band confess, “Ignition can best be understood as a response to modern musical oversaturation. Digging into the weeds a bit, we believed that classic rock had sort of taken a back seat in terms of its presence in mainstream musical culture.”
They continue with depth, “We felt that popular music deserved to have its rock derivative on equal footing. Ignition is an attempt to reintroduce classic rock, with a highly energetic new lease on life, for a modern audience.”
We learn that Burning River consists of Stanley Piecuch on drums, Nicholas Lattanzio on bass, Keith Altman on vocals, and Joseph Hozian performing guitar! The band has a shared ethos and mission “to help reclaim rock n roll’s former glory, and to re-establish its rightful seat at the mainstream table.”
They tell us, “We believe that with a vintage influence, coupled with a modern sound, we can rekindle public interest in rock music. We are by no means reinventing the wheel, simply put, we hope to channel the musical titans of the past, and infuse our music with a similarly infectious energy. Our goal is to see rock sit alongside pop, hip-hop, and country as equally valuable genres once again. This is a monumental goal, but with our hard work and your voice, we could truly make a positive change.”
We absolutely love the intention and what the band is offering sonically and thematically. The guitar solo is simply out of this world! They cite “70s hard rock, Led Zeppelin, Rush, AC/DC, Deep Purple, and Jimi Hendrix, as well as 50s rock and modern metal” as some of their influences, although it is clear that Burning River are creating a fiery universe of their own!
