Setting the tone with an elegant piano performance and atmospheric vocals, Faïnn opens Golden with the meaningful prose, “I know I’m always in my head, never in the moment, always dreaming instead of feeling what I’m holding…”
The opus expands with luscious textures and rippling drums to deliver a cohesive tapestry of sound and a timeless love song. We learn that Golden is designed by Faïnn as “a thank you to her husband, a public acknowledgement of his support and unwavering love.”
We deeply appreciate the build of the track and the authentic depth and love energy that Faïnn channels with the composition as she sings, “You remind me to open my eyes, life is beautiful with you by my side…”
The layered vocals for the finale are truly sublime and we feel connected with the profound love that Faïnn shares with her beau. We learn that the stresses of undergraduate life at a music school took their toll on the Golden singer, and alongside a minor vocal injury and subsequent lack of confidence, left her promising herself that she would never perform vocally again.
Faïnn decided she wanted to know more about the cause of her vocal injury and the subsequent speech and singing therapy she received, and retrained as a vocal coach herself! We love her timbre, and the cathartic nature of her tale, as well as how she turned her pain into power!
We have added Golden to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Faïnn‘s wider discography including Sometimes, and I Lied.
