We previously featured IDN for his psychedelic and intricate opus, Vision, and his genre expansive and subversive album, Kaleidoscope, so when we heard that the talented star had just released Velvet Sanctuary, we couldn’t wait to listen and feed back!
Drawing us in with an expansive and dimensional frequency, IDN opens Velvet Sanctuary with a pulsating and textured dance beat, as he shares evocative and connected lyricism through a dynamic sonic lens. Showcasing his exquisite timbre and range, we appreciate the trip that the artist takes us on with his vocals, fused with the cohesive tapestry of sound that he has created.
The opus expands with melodic nuance and astral add libs that immerse us further, needless to say, we are hypnotized! Speaking on the message of the release, IDN confesses, “Velvet Sanctuary is all about self-love – being that soft sanctuary for yourself when no one else can be there for you.”
The LA-based multi-disciplinary artist, also known as Iden Mozafari, continues, “We are our best teachers, lovers, friends, motivators, etc., so I think it’s so important to preach self-love and take a moment to thank every part of yourself for being what it is.”
He adds with reference to the sound design, “The song takes sonic inspiration from 90’s UK rave at its euphoric peak and early Detroit techno, mixed with pop sensibilities.”
We love what IDN is creating, and have added Velvet Sanctuary to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream IDN‘s wider discography including his album, Kaleidoscope.
