Setting the tone with a cerebral, glitched synth and immersive frequency, Ripsime opens Benevolent Prince with textured vocals and metaphorical, situational prose. The opus expands into a dynamic and dimensional electronic pop canvas, whilst Ripsime shares an evocative flow with exquisite cadence and charisma. Needless to say, we are mesmerized.
We learn that the track was recorded and produced between war-torn Artsakh/Armenia and London. Spending time with her family in Artsakh, Ripsime self-recorded these new songs among some of the spaces and places she may no longer be able to return to. The star confesses that the diversity in sound “can only be described as what it feels like to be torn between continents and worlds.”
We appreciate the symbolic depth of the song, and the hook-laden approach that Ripsime delivers. The instrumental interludes are out of this world, as the star showcases her compositional mastery in collaboration with Luke Turner. The song was also mixed by Tom Donovan (Monster Florence) and mastered by Jonas Karlsson (John Legend).
The psychedelic and industrial nuances are what really makes Benevolent Prince a unique and memorable journey, and for that we are grateful. The finale of the track showcases a cosmic breakdown with a luscious and enigmatic guitar performance. We have added Benevolent Prince to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Ripsime‘s debut single, Tell Me the Lie.
