We recently featured The Lunar Keys for their high concept, high octane single, Oxygen Type, so when we heard that the visionary band from Guildford had just released the brand new single, Life Is A Dirty War, we couldn’t wait to experience it.
Establishing the mood with a signature power pop performance of the words, “I won’t live like that no more, I’ve escaped from this before, you can break me to the core, life is a journey, WAR…”, the opus evolves to suddenly take on a grittier edge with an electric guitar and subversive alternative rock energy. Needless to way, we are hypnotized.
We love the harmonies that The Lunar Keys create together, and the ebbs and flow of Life Is A Dirty War as the band share evocative prose and metaphorical depth with their message. The sonic architecture of the track is incredible, and speaking on the meaning of the song, the band confess, “The song’s lyrics are about being in a bad relationship, whilst facing life’s daily struggles but not surrendering and likening that experience to being in a war.”
It is no surprise that Life Is A Dirty War has already been aired on BBC Introducing, and previous releases from The Lunar Keys have had more than 400,000 views and streams and over 3500 plays from more than 400 radio stations including BBC Wales, Amazing Radio and more!
Fans of Foo Fighters, The Police, Royal Blood, The Killers, and Fleetwood Mac will definitely be able to connect with the feel-good energy of the band, but there is no doubt that what The Lunar Keys create is unique to their own design.
We have added Life Is A Dirty War to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the band’s wider discography including Oxygen Type, Once, and Maniac!
