Romain Gutsy returns with spell-binding new love song, Lany

By now, you will know that we are huge fans of Romain Gutsy, so when we heard that the visionary artist had just released the brand new, Lany, we couldn’t wait to listen and feed back.

Setting the tone with with an immersive frequency and a rhyme guitar soundscape, Romain Gutsy opens Lany with his signature, evocative vocal timbre as he sings, “In my prophecy, was not written I would meet you, nor that you’d fall on me, in my destiny, was not meant that an angel come down to put a spell on me…”

The opus expands into an ode to Lany, and Romain’s deep rooted connection with his muse. We can always count of the star to deliver a rich, narrative-based approach and charismatic delivery, and Lany does just that!

The chord sequence is masterful, and creates a cohesive tapestry of sound, of which we cannot get enough. We can visualize multiple cinematic synch deals for the star, who is fast becoming France’s answer to Leonard Cohen.

Speaking on the message of the release, Romain confesses, “It’s a love song, quite a normal one this time, but still with some element of humour, like a statement of the one who sees he is under a love spell and can’t do anything else than surrender and sees himself giving in.”

We adore the soundscape that Romain Gutsy creates in collaboration with Marc Bentel, the choral vocal harmonies from Chandra Bentel hold a unique sense of nostalgia and help dimensionalize the piece further. There’s a whole verse where Romain even speaks in tongues, cementing his originality and daring approach to song creation.

Lany has been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Romain Gutsy exquisite wider discography including Frenchy Boy, and Trouble and Delicious.
