Mia Automata shares existential and self-realized new opus, The Living Dead

Setting the tone with an industrial synth, and immersive keys, Mia Automata opens The Living Dead with intrigue, and dimensionality before sharing atmospheric vocals and metaphorical prose.

We immediately connect to the dark-wave meets alternative-pop hybrid energy that the rising artist conveys, and the poetic prowess and cerebral depth of Mia’s prose.

We learn that the track is designed to tackle “the experience of feeling like a passenger in your own body, half alive, a witness to your own life.” This is something that the star confesses to have experienced herself. Naturally, we appreciate her vivid brand of storytelling and zombie movie references.

Speaking on the existential and self-realized anthem, Mia confesses, “I started this journey as someone else, someone that felt half alive, lacking an important part of my humanity, I’m here now, finally.”

The experimental creative from Bishop’s Stortford continues, “This song is about living half alive, knowing constantly that there is something more out there for you, something that will make you feel again. I was yearning to be alive; to not be the living dead.”

We love the message and authenticity that Mia conveys with her artistry, and have added The Living Dead to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Mia Automata‘s wider discography including Make Me Human.
